I’ve never tried Yoga before, but I heard Bikram was a challenge, and since this year I’ve dedicated to try more things I’ve never done before and so went to a class. now I’m up to my 5th class…..it’s awesome. And you feel so good afterwards….Love it

well, physical exercise (especially the hard one) help to be in good health, and its not only about loosing fat, but also about how you organism absorb the nutriments and use it for your whole body. The best example would be the cholesterol, no matter how much you absorb cholesterol, the more you do physical exercice, the more you’ll have good cholesterol(HDL) and the less you’ll have bad cholesterol (LDL). If you don’t believe me ask any doctor or google it 😉

there really is no possible way you can lose muscle by doing exercise.you can tone your body to look more lean and healthy and have the same amount of muscle but you will not become skinny by doing yoga.

That was fun. I guess my independent stretching has paid off because I was able to go the Yoga sit up and the extended leg-standing up position without a problem. I had no idea I was that flexible. My body feels so loose and good now.

You should be fine, just take a few shavasna breaks (on your back, relaxing) during your first few Bikram Yoga sessions. All good instructors will let you go at your own pace.
